Adult and Teen Painting Classes: There is something for everyone during both the morning and evening painting classes, regardless of your art background. $25 per class, or special session rate of $225 per 10 week series of classes, and... enrolling in a 10 week session gets you the added bonus of an hour's time each week during the "Open Studio Sunday" for free!
Tuesday (6:30-8 pm)We'll do all kinds of paintings using both acrylic and watercolor paints. You can begin by learning the foundations of color and how to use various techniques, OR you can continue to grow and strengthen your existing skills with time set aside for assigned projects or independent work and practice. The small class size is suitable for both individualized learning and relaxing within the supportive and welcoming "tiny art house" space. Typical activities include painting a variety of subject matter on canvas or watercolor paper, and if interest prevails, we'll use more non-traditional surfaces, such as wood or glass, too. Suggestions are welcomed and encouraged. You will receive as much or as little guidance as you're comfortable with. Suggested weekly topics can be found on the calendar.
Tuesday (10-11:30 am)Learn something brand new or pick up where you left off at some point in your peronal history. We'll practice a bit of observational drawing and work on creating strong compositions while working with a variety of painting techniques using both watercolor and acrylic paint. The subject matter will vary to suit the seasons, and student interests will drive project selections, too. Suggested weekly topics are listed on the website, but you can expect freedom and flexibility during the friendly and low-key classes. Everyone is welcome for these morning gatherings!
Clay-Ceramics- 10-week class (Teen-Adult) Thursday (6-9pm) Come and develop your hand-building pottery skills by learning how to use a variety of techniques through a structured series of projects. You can make beautiful, functional, and decorative items from slabs, coils, molds, hollow-ball and other sculpting and modeling techniques. (We have a pottery wheel and a kiln at the studio as well! Call if you have questions) $25 per class, or get a bargain @ $225 per 10 week series of classes, and...enrolling in a class gets you the added bonus of an hour's time during "Open Studio Sunday" for free! There will be no cost for you to come and work for an hour anytime between 1-5.
Clay Projects (Teen-Adult) Thursday (7-8:30) Social Art-making is all the rage! The Brookview Art Studio offers a wonderful, cozy setting to learn new skills and try something fresh. We'll use soft clay to make projects such as mugs or tumblers, ice cream bowls & candle holders, jewelry dishes, serving platters, soap holders & spoon rests, cheese boards, garden markers, pet treat containers and more....So many possibilities! Check the website calendar to see the scheduled projects . No need to have had any experience in working with clay—you’ll get plenty of instruction and encouragement to succeed. Both the project sessions AND their results are perfect for gift-giving.
Each 3-session project (-2 to make it & 1 to glaze it-) costs $50 . . The 5 session savings price is $225.
